Los Angeles to London

Being a Brit living in the US for over twenty years, a year didn’t go by without me checking out homes for sale in the UK. Whether it was multi-million pound castles and estates, cute terraced cottages, or modern flats in London overlooking the Thames, they all caught my attention and set my heart dreaming. I never imagined this dream would come true, or at least not until hubby and I retired.

In 2022, on one of those days of scrolling through UK homes, the hubs asked me what I was looking at, so I sheepishly showed him the latest object of my dreams, a 1800s weaver’s cottage bursting with all the charm a home could possibly hold! Drool worthy pics below (I mean a sunflower wreath, yellow sandstone bricks, and yellow curtains?!).

This share across the sofa cushions started the adventure of a lifetime across three countries and an ocean to our new home — not the one pictured above, but equally as charming (pics in an upcoming entry)!

Looking back at the almost infinite amount steps to get two humans with a dog in tow from Los Angeles to London, I’m still shocked that we made it this far without hiring a team of full-time assistants. So if you’re planning your move to the UK, either as a British expat returning or an American citizen, follow along, because I’ve got all the fun and gnarly deets for a USA to UK move!

Moving from another country? There’s a lot of info that will help you with your move/point you in the right direction.

Follow along by adding your email here - and don’t worry, I won’t bombard you… it’ll be just to let you know when I’ve added a new entry about moving to the UK! 🇬🇧 ☀️

Sending you sunshine from our home in England (and yes, the sun is out as I write this!).
